Coritiba is recognized for developing one of the county’s leading youth teams, proving its quality by winning titles and developing athletes for professional football. Club players learn the value and feeling of wearing a Coritiba shirt from an early age; the importance of being a player with the soul of a warrior.
Coxa’s Youth League currently contributes to the formation of high-level players that reinforce the main team, Brazilian team and other clubs in the country. They are athletes molded through multidisciplinary work, which includes accommodation at Dirceu Krüger, at Couto Pereira, specific technical committees, gyms, and training fields at the Graciosa TC. Basically, it is a process aimed at sports formation of the highest level and with social responsibility.
“We created a project that allows Coxa to act competitively, fostering the mentality of forming winning youths”, affirms the manager of Coritiba football, Mario André Mazzuco.
Coritiba has already tallied two international titles with its youth league. The first came in 2012, with the Under-19 squad in the United States, beating Manchester United, from England. And now, in 2013, Coxa raised the trophy for the Gradisca City Tournament, in Italy, with its Under-17 team.
The youth league project also includes investments in infrastructure and the qualification of professionals, support to athletes in the most diverse areas, such as social assistance, education, physiology, nutrition, psychology and, more recently, total integration with the Football Department. This interdisciplinary work ensures the formation not only of athletes, but also active citizens prepared for life.
