The biggest and most traditional stadium of  Paraná, Major Antonio Couto Pereira is the house of the ‘white thigh’ nation and one of  the capital symbols. It was inaugurated in 1932 and along the history it suffered transformations to follow the growth of the city. For this involvement, the stadium loads in it architecture the history of the main  national sport in Paraná state.

 

Couto, as it is affectionately called, is located in the district of Alto da Glória, near to the commercial centre of the city. The name of the district is favorable also to designate the field Alviverde, because the club is one of the most winning in Brazil.

 

The neighborhood is predominantly residential and with small commerce. The stadium has capacity for 37 thousand accommodated spectators, has modern structures for shops, food and leisure places. It has the best type of grass in the world for practicing soccer and an efficient system of security. In days of games, one tradition : Couto is always full.

 

There are available buses every place in the city to take the citizen next to the stadium.  As Coritiba’s fans, as the visitors, have exclusive entrances in separated and well signaled streets.
